  • CURRICULUM
School-based curriculum initiatives listed below supplement the basic primary school syllabuses of the Education Bureau for English, Chinese, Mathematics, General Studies, Computer, Art, Music and PE:

    • The English programme is enriched with storybooks and novels for our students who use the language in learning and in their school and social lives. Through the programme, students not only advance in grammar and vocabulary, but also develop a strong interest in reading, which further promotes their learning on the whole. The love of reading is an important element in the culture of our school.

    • QEF-funded CUHK English language education programme titled 'Integrating social and emotional learning into the English Language curriculum: fostering positive values, attitudes and motivations in English learning in primary schools.' will be implemented in P.4-6.

    • The Chinese programme is especially designed under the leadership of experts from the Education Faculty of the University of Hong Kong with learning materials that let students of differing Chinese abilities progress at their own pace, some of whom reaching the same standard as native Chinese speakers in local primary schools. In lower primary, the emphasis is on developing listening and speaking skills with reading and writing gaining greater importance in upper primary.

    • Putonghua is introduced and adapted to the needs of our students.

    • From J4 to J6, besides General Studies, Geography promotes students’ understanding of Hong Kong, the world and their relation to other countries.

    • The Personal Growth and Social Education Programme focuses on the development of self-understanding and ways to relate to other people for the development of self-regulation and the progress of the community.

    • Our graduates may choose to enter a secondary school in the local or another educational system.

  • Support for Non-Chinese Speaking Children (In Primary Section):

    • The school uses English as the medium of instruction and a basic level of English is expected of students.

      • Our Primary Section currently has 8 NCS teachers with a range of languages spoken and understood, including Hindi, Urdu, English, Putonghua and Cantonese.

      • All communications including school circulars, notices and leaflets are published in English.

      • The School will arrange interpretation and/or translation service for NCS parents where necessary.

      • A school-based Chinese curriculum is developed under the leadership of experts from the University of Hong Kong, that provides learning materials to suit students’ different learning needs within the same year level.
